Find Your Gold: Training

I specialise in translating evidence-based clinical skills into frontline spaces, such as A&E, mental health services, community organisations, homeless hostels, criminal justice, adults and children’s services. I help professionals to use the trickiest situations as exactly the ground in which to lay roots for healing and connection.

My trainings are co-delivered alongside Rachel Wilkinson: survivor of extraordinary harms, poet, kindness-warrior, dog-lover, and expert in matters-of-the-heart. You can find more about this extraordinary woman here: Home | Living Legacy Learning

Trainings include:

  • De-escalation - prevent violence and aggression in health, housing, social care and security settings.

  • Personality Disorders - a trauma and inequalities informed approach

  • Mental Health Awareness

  • Collaboration without Collusion

  • Understanding Self Harm and Suicide

  • Building effective relationships in integrated care systems

My trainings blend specialist clinical expertise with operational expertise, and expertise by experience. They are based on twenty years in the field as a psychotherapist, mental health supervisor and leader, as well as from my own lived experience as someone with ADHD.

Alongside an introduction to trauma and the brain, each training is packed with evidence based tools and techniques that you can translate into everyday practice at work.

I am committed to anti-racist and anti-discriminatory practice, and continually learn and develop in this field as a core part of my approach.

Training
I attended the Collaboration without Collusion Learning Day training session facilitated by Felicity Reed alongside four volunteer Job Club Champions. Felicity’s knowledge and practical approach gave us tools to navigate difficult conversations with compassion and build trust with those we support. The impact on our team has been profound, strengthening our ability to serve the community more effectively.

"Felicity's excellent training on suicide and self harm, prompted me to reach out to her to be our keynote speaker at our annual conference. The 180 participants totally soaked up her words, giving us tools to respond to those in crisis with openness, compassion and skill."
Michelle - Assistant Director Safeguarding and Compliance- Barnardos
'We watch mic drops during our team meetings. Each video prompts us to understand something about the world differently and improve our wellbeing. The mic drop you shared which was generously given by a young woman who had survived homelessness, is transforming the way we respond to families facing homelessness. Mic drops are often a fiery call to action, telling us: do better - and giving us simple tools to know how to make that real.'
